How to integrate Group Leads with Constant Contact

This guide walks you through connecting GroupLeads with Constant Contact so you can automatically send approved members to your email list using the autoresponder feature.

Step 1: Log in to Constant Contact

Start by signing in to your Constant Contact dashboard using your account credentials.

Step 2: Get Your List ID

Group Leads needs a List ID to know where to send contacts.

1. In the left sidebar, click Audience
2. Select Lists & Segments from the drop-down

If you already have a list:

• Click the list name
• Look at your browser’s address bar
• Copy the last alphanumeric string in the URL — this is your List ID
• Paste it into a notepad for later

If you don’t have a list yet:

1. Click Create New
2. Select List from the popup and click Continue

   

3. Enter your list name and click Save
   

   

4. Open the newly created list
5. Copy the List ID from the browser URL and save it in a notepad

Step 3: Open the Constant Contact Developer Dashboard

Next, you’ll generate API credentials.

1. Make sure you’re still logged in to Constant Contact
2. Open the Developer Dashboard:

3. Click the My Applications tab
4. Click Log in

Step 4: Create a New Application

This app allows GroupLeads to securely connect to your Constant Contact account.

1. Click New Application (top right)
2. Enter an Application Name
3. Select Long-Lived Refresh Token as the refresh token type
4. Click Create

Step 5: Copy Your API Key and Client Secret

1. Click the application you just created

   

2. Copy the API Key and paste it into your notepad

   

3. Click Generate Client Secret
4. Confirm by clicking Generate Client Secret again in the popup
5. Copy the Client Secret and save it in your notepad

Step 6: Add the Redirect URL

This step is required for authorization to work correctly.

1. Click the Edit icon next to the Redirect URI field
2. Paste the following URL: https://api.groupleads.net/api/oauth/constant-contact/callback
3. Click Confirm
4. Scroll to the top and click Save

   

Step 7: Connect Constant Contact in GroupLeads

Now, switch to GroupLeads to complete the integration.

1. Open the GroupLeads browser extension
2. Go to Autoresponder Settings
3. Select Constant Contact from the dropdown
   

   

4. Click the credential and enters the following:
   • API Key
   • Client Secret
   • List ID
5. Click Update

Step 8: Authorize the Connection

• You’ll be redirected to Constant Contact
• Click Allow to grant permission
• You’ll see a confirmation message that the integration was successful

Step 9: Enable the Autoresponder

1. Return to GroupLeads
2. Turn on the Enable Autoresponder switch
3. Click Update to save your settings

✅ That’s it!  Your GroupLeads account is now successfully connected to Constant Contact, and approved members will be automatically added to your selected list.
