How to Integrate Group Leads With Active Campaign

Connecting your ActiveCampaign account to GroupLeads allows you to automatically collect Facebook Group member email addresses, membership question responses, and lead data directly into your ActiveCampaign contact lists and automated email sequences.

Follow the step-by-step guide below to find your ActiveCampaign List ID, API URL, API Key, and Tag Name, then connect them using the CRM tab in the GroupLeads Chrome Extension.

Prerequisites

  • An active ActiveCampaign account.
  • GroupLeads Chrome Extension installed and connected to a Google Sheet.
  • Facebook Group membership questions configured.

Step 1: Create or Select a Contact List in ActiveCampaign

  1. Log in to your ActiveCampaign Dashboard.
  2. In the left navigation menu, click Contacts → Lists.

  3. Click the Add a list button in the top-right corner (or select an existing list).
  4. Fill in the list details (List Name, Website URL, and List Description) and click Save.

Step 2: Find and Copy Your ActiveCampaign List ID

  1. Click on your newly created list name to open its detail page.
  2. Look at your browser's address bar URL: https://youraccount.activehosted.com/app/contacts/?listid=2
  3. Copy the numerical value immediately following listid= (e.g., 2) and paste it into a temporary text file or notepad.

Step 3: Get Your ActiveCampaign API Key and API URL

  1. Click the Settings icon (⚙) in the bottom-left corner of the ActiveCampaign navigation sidebar.
  2. In the settings menu, click Developer.
  3. Under the API Access section, locate your URL and Key.
  4. Copy both your API URL (e.g., https://youraccount.api-us1.com) and API Key string and save them in your notepad alongside your List ID.

Step 4: Create a Tag in ActiveCampaign (Optional)

To categorize and tag incoming group leads in ActiveCampaign:

  1. In the left sidebar, navigate to Contacts → Tags.
  2. Type your desired tag name (e.g., Facebook Group Member) into the input box.
  3. Click Add Tag.
  4. Copy the exact tag name string and paste it into your notepad.

Step 5: Open GroupLeads and Access the CRM Tab

Now switch to your browser extension to complete the connection:

  1. Open Google Chrome and launch the GroupLeads Chrome Extension.
  2. Click the gear / settings icon (⚙) next to your Facebook Group name.
  3. Click the CRM tab in the top navigation bar (located between Setup and Auto Responder).
  4. Toggle ON the Enable CRM switch to activate CRM integration and automation.

Step 6: Configure ActiveCampaign Credentials and Verify

  1. Under CRM Integration, select ActiveCampaign from the dropdown list.
  2. Toggle ON Send Questions/Answers to ActiveCampaign (if you want member Q&A responses saved).
  3. Enter your saved credentials into the respective input fields:
    • API key *: Paste your ActiveCampaign API Key.
    • API URL *: Paste your ActiveCampaign API URL (e.g., https://youraccount.api-us1.com).
    • List ID *: Paste your numerical ActiveCampaign List ID (e.g., 2).
    • Tag Name: Paste your exact Tag Name (e.g., Facebook Group Member).
  4. Click Verify & Update (or Update) to validate your credentials and save the connection. Once saved, a green Connected badge will appear.


✅ You're all set! Your ActiveCampaign account is now fully connected to GroupLeads. Every approved Facebook Group member will automatically be added to your ActiveCampaign contact list, tagged, and enrolled in your automated email campaigns.
