​How to Integrate Group Leads with Kit

Connecting your Kit account (formerly ConvertKit) to GroupLeads allows you to automatically add new Facebook Group members as subscribers in Kit, sync their responses, and assign custom tags using Kit's API.

Follow the step-by-step guide below to set up your tag, generate your Kit v4 API Key, and connect them using the CRM tab in the GroupLeads Chrome Extension.

Prerequisites

• An active Kit account.
• GroupLeads Chrome Extension installed and connected to a Google Sheet.
• Facebook Group membership questions configured.

Step 1: Set Up a Tag in Kit

1. Log in to your Kit dashboard.
2. Click Subscribers in the left-hand navigation menu.
3. On the right-hand panel, scroll down to All Tags and click the plus icon (+).
   

   

4. In the Create tag pop-up modal, enter your desired tag name in the Tag name field (e.g., Facebook Group).
5. Copy your tag name to a temporary notepad file for later use.
6. Click Save.

Step 2: Generate Your Kit v4 API Key

1. From the left-hand navigation menu, click Settings.
2. On the Settings menu list, click Developer (Manage your API keys and build apps for the Kit App Store).
   

   

3. Under the V4 Keys section, click the + Add a new key button.
4. In the pop-up modal, enter a name for your key (e.g., Fb Group) and click Save.
   

   

5. Your new v4 API Key will be generated and displayed. Click Copy to copy the API Key string and save it into your notepad file alongside your tag name.
6. Click Done. (Note: Save your v4 API Key immediately as you will not be able to view it again after closing the modal).

Step 3: Open GroupLeads and Access the CRM Tab

Now switch to your browser extension to complete the connection:

1. Open Google Chrome and launch the GroupLeads Chrome Extension.
2. Click the gear / settings icon (⚙) next to your Facebook Group name.
3. Click the CRM tab in the top navigation bar (located between Setup and Auto Responder).
4. Toggle ON the Enable CRM switch to activate CRM integration and automation.

Step 4: Configure Kit Credentials and Verify

1. Under CRM Integration, select Kit from the dropdown list.
2. Toggle ON Send Questions/Answers to Kit (if you want member Q&A responses saved).
3. Enter your saved credentials into the respective input fields:
   • API key *: Paste your Kit v4 API Key generated in Step 2 (e.g., kit_8db1491f1cd7...).
   • Exact Tag Name *: Enter the exact tag name created in Step 1 (e.g., Facebook Group).
4. Click Verify & Update (or Update) to validate your credentials and save the connection. Once saved, a green Connected badge will appear.

Step 5: Approve Members and Sync Data

1. Go to your Member Requests page on Facebook.
2. Approve new members using the GroupLeads red button (or Approve All).
3. The new members' data will be automatically saved to your Google Sheet and synced with your Kit subscriber list and tags.

✅ You're all set! Your Kit account is now fully integrated with GroupLeads using the v4 API, and new Facebook Group members will be added seamlessly.
