How to Decline Facebook Group Members and Send a Message via Messenger
Learn how to automatically decline pending Facebook Group member requests while simultaneously sending a customized decline message via Facebook Messenger.
Prerequisites
- Active GroupLeads Chrome Extension logged into your account.
- Admin or moderator access to your Facebook Group.
Step 1: Enable Decline Messaging in Extension Settings
- Open Google Chrome and click the GroupLeads icon in your toolbar.
- Locate the Facebook group you want to manage and click the gear / settings icon (⚙) next to the group name.
- Select the Autoresponder tab at the top.
- Toggle ON the switch labeled Enable Decline Messaging.

Step 2: Configure Decline Messaging Time Delays and Limits
After enabling decline messaging, configure your sending parameters in the settings panel:
- Delay: Enter a value in the Send message every minute(s) field to specify the time interval between sending messages. This helps protect your account from Facebook rate limits.
- Limit: Enter a value in the Stop after I've sent field to set a maximum cap on declined member messages per session.
- Pause & Restart: Enter a duration in the Pause and start again after field to pause execution automatically before resuming.

Step 3: Customize and Randomize Decline Messages
- Click the three-dot icon (⋮) next to the default decline message to edit the text.
- To create message variations, toggle ON Randomize message.
- Click the plus (+) button to add additional message variants.
- Click Update to save your message settings.

- Go to your Facebook Group and navigate to the Member Requests management page.
- Scroll to the member request you wish to decline.
- Click the Decline and Send Message button added by GroupLeads.

✅ 🎉 The member will be declined from your group, and your predefined decline message will be automatically delivered to their Facebook Messenger inbox!
