How to Connect Privy to GroupLeads

Connecting your Privy account to GroupLeads allows you to automatically import Facebook Group member email addresses, lead responses, and membership details directly into your Privy contacts database and automated marketing tag workflows.

Follow the step-by-step guide below to generate your Privy API Token, create a Contact Tag, and connect them using the CRM tab in the GroupLeads Chrome Extension.

Prerequisites

• An active Privy account.
• GroupLeads Chrome Extension installed and connected to a Google Sheet.
• Facebook Group membership questions configured.

Step 1: Generate Your Privy API Token

1. Log in to your Privy Dashboard.
2. Click your business profile/name in the top-right corner and select Business Settings (or click Settings in the main navigation menu).
3. In the left sidebar, click API (or API Tokens).
4. Click Create API Key / Generate API Token.
5. Enter a descriptive name for your API key (e.g., GroupLeads Integration).
6. Select the required permissions:
   • Read Contacts
   • Write Contacts
7. Click Create API Key / Generate Token.
8. Copy the generated API Token string and save it securely in a notepad or text file.

Step 2: Create a Contact Tag in Privy

1. In your Privy main navigation menu, click Contacts.
2. Select the Tags sub-menu section.
3. Click the Create Tag button.
4. Enter the tag name you wish to assign to incoming leads (e.g., GroupLeads Leads).
5. Click Save to create the tag.
6. Copy the exact tag name string and paste it into your notepad. (Ensure the spelling, spacing, and capitalization match exactly).

Step 3: Open GroupLeads and Access the CRM Tab

Now switch to your browser extension to complete the connection:

1. Open Google Chrome and launch the GroupLeads Chrome Extension.
2. Click the gear / settings icon (⚙) next to your Facebook Group name.
3. Click the CRM tab in the top navigation bar (located between Setup and Auto Responder).
4. Toggle ON the Enable CRM switch to activate CRM integration and automation.

Step 4: Configure Privy Credentials and Verify

1. Under CRM Integration, select Privy from the dropdown list.
2. Toggle ON Send Questions/Answers to Privy (if you want member Q&A responses saved).
3. Enter your saved credentials into the respective input fields:
   • API Token *: Paste your Privy API Token.
   • Tag Name *: Paste your exact Tag Name (e.g., GroupLeads Leads).
4. Click Verify & Update to validate your credentials and save the connection. Once saved, a green Connected badge will appear.

✅ You're all set! Your Privy account is now fully connected to GroupLeads. Every approved Facebook Group member will automatically be added as a contact in Privy, tagged, and enrolled in your email marketing campaigns.
