How to Integrate Group Leads with GoHighLevel V2.0
This tutorial walks you through how to generate your GoHighLevel Location ID, API key, and tag, then connect them to the Group Leads Chrome extension to enable the autoresponder feature.
Step 1: Log in to Your GoHighLevel Dashboard
Start by signing in to your GoHighLevel (GHL) account and opening the main dashboard.
You will complete several setup steps inside GHL before switching to Group Leads.
Step 2: Find and Copy Your Location ID
You will need your Location ID later when connecting Group Leads.
- Click Settings in the bottom-left sidebar.
- From the settings menu, select Business Profile.
- On the Business Profile page, locate your Location ID.
- Copy the Location ID and paste it into a notepad or text file for later use.

Step 3: Create a Private Integration (API Key)
Next, you will generate an API key that allows Group Leads to connect securely with GHL.
- While still in Settings, scroll down and click Private Integrations.
- Click Create New Integration.

- Enter a Private App Name and a short Description, then click Next.
Add the Required Scopes
On the Scopes step, select the following permissions:
- Edit Contacts — contacts.write
- View Contacts — contacts.readonly
- View Locations — locations.readonly
- Edit Location Tasks — locations/tasks.write
- View Tags — locations/tags.readonly
- Edit Tags — locations/tags.write

These scopes allow Group Leads to create and update contacts, apply tags, and access basic location data required for the autoresponder to work correctly.
- Click Create once all required scopes are selected.
- Copy the generated API Key and save it in your notepad.
Step 4: Create a Tag in GoHighLevel
This tag will be used by Group Leads to label new contacts automatically.
- Click Tags from the left sidebar menu.

- Click New Tag.
- Enter your Tag Name, then click Create Tag.

- Copy the exact tag name and save it in your notepad.
Make sure the tag name matches exactly, including spelling and spacing.
Step 5: Open Group Leads and Enable Autoresponder
Now you will connect everything inside the Group Leads Chrome extension.
- Open your Group Leads Chrome extension.
- Go to your Facebook group’s Settings.
- Click the Autoresponder tab.
- Toggle Enable Autoresponder to ON.
- From the autoresponder list, select GoHighLevel v2.
- Click Credentials.

Step 6: Add Your GHL Credentials to Group Leads
Use the information you saved earlier to complete the setup.
- Open your notepad and copy the following:
- API Key
- Location ID
- Exact Tag Name
- Paste each value into the corresponding fields in the Group Leads Credentials dialog.
- Click Update to save your settings.

You’re All Set
Your GoHighLevel account is now connected to Group Leads. New contacts can be automatically tagged and processed using the autoresponder workflow you’ve configured.
If you run into any issues, double-check that all values were copied correctly and that the tag name matches exactly.
