How to Use Group Leads To Message New Member Before Approval
GroupLeads allows you to send Facebook messages to new member applicants who haven't completed your membership questions—without needing to approve or decline their request first.
This feature helps you follow up with applicants and remind them to complete their membership questions before joining.
Step 1: Enable Pre-Approval Messaging in Extension Settings
- Open Google Chrome and launch the GroupLeads Chrome Extension.
- Click the gear / settings icon (⚙) next to your Facebook Group.
- Select the Autoresponder tab at the top.
- Scroll down to Message pending members without accepting.
- Toggle ON the switch labeled Send message only.
Step 2: Configure Your Pre-Approval Message Content
- In the Message Content box under Message pending members without accepting, enter the message text you wish to send.
- You can use dynamic variables (such as
[first_name],[last_name],[group_name], and[group_url]) to personalize your message. - Click Save to update your messaging settings.
Step 3: Send Messages from Facebook Member Requests Page
- Go to your Facebook Group and open the Member Requests management page.
- Scroll to the pending member applicant you wish to contact.
- Click the blue Send message only button added by GroupLeads next to their name.
✅ 🎉 The configured message will be automatically delivered to the applicant's Facebook Messenger inbox, allowing you to engage with prospective members before making an approval decision.
